A beautiful and youthful appearance can be achieved without surgery. A relatively short visit to your surgeon’s office is all it takes in may cases. The result is predictable and your body will quickly adapt to the treatment. For the year 2010, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reported 9.5 million aesthetic procedures, 83% of which were non-invasive. Botox injections topped the list (5.4 m), followed by dermal fillers (1.8 m), chemical peeling (1.1 m), laser hair removal (938,000) and microdermabrasion (825,000).
The greatest risk associated with these methods is their seemingly simple application. Opting for a simple dermal filler instead of a more invasive skin tightening procedure may prove to be a bad choice if the result is unnatural. A balanced use of dermal fillers and Botox can yield good and very appealing results. However, they cannot replace the surgeon, and in many cases these methods are used only to complement plastic surgery.
